About

Built from inside the problem.

Dexec started with one founder, one long-running frustration, and a question construction had already answered: what if the people doing the work made the plan?

“I kept watching good design teams get held to plans they had no part in making, then stuck bending construction scheduling tools to fit a workflow they were never built for. Design teams needed a planning environment made for them — Last Planner System principles to cut waste, Rules of Credit for progress you can actually measure. That's Dexec.”

The pattern

The same story, on programme after programme.

The programme is written once

A bar chart is built early, by one person, to satisfy a submission. Nobody who has to deliver the work was ever really asked.

Reality quietly diverges

Weeks in, the plan and the work are two different things. Everyone knows it. The programme keeps getting reported anyway.

Design managers absorb the gap

Chasing information, re-sequencing on the fly, defending dates they never set. Capable teams, undermined by a plan they didn't own.

How we got here

From site-proven practice to the design phase.

  1. 1AEC delivery

    Years inside multi-discipline programmes

Archer Gharani spent his career in engineering and infrastructure delivery — across disciplines, packages and client organisations, in the rooms where design commitments are actually made and missed.

  2. 2The pattern

    Same failure, different project

The problem was never talent or effort. It was that design delivery ran on top-down programmes nobody in the room had genuinely agreed to.

  3. 3The precedent

    Construction already solved this

The Last Planner System changed site delivery: the people doing the work make the commitments, constraints are removed before work starts, and reliability is measured rather than assumed.

  4. 4The gap

Design was left out of the shift

Two decades of collaborative planning barely touched the design phase — where sequencing, information flow and rework have the most leverage on the whole programme.

  5. 5Dexec

    Production control, built for design

So we built it: a board where the design team plans its own work, sees its constraints, and earns a delivery promise it can stand behind.

Why we exist

Construction spent two decades learning to plan collaboratively. The design phase, where the most leverage sits, largely missed out. We are closing that gap.

Who we build for

Engineering Design firms running complex, multi-package programmes — big enough to feel the coordination pain, small enough to still move quickly.

How we work

In the open, with our beta teams. Every design manager in the programme has a direct line to us, and it shows in what we ship.

Our belief

A plan is only worth what the team behind it believes.

Dexec exists to make design delivery something you can promise with a straight face — to your client, your directors and your own team.
